A new project for a new need…
The Atlanta Public School System serves a diverse student population, with many students coming from low-income families and facing a range of challenges. These students often lack access to the resources and support they need to succeed in school.
One of the main issues facing underprivileged children in the Atlanta Public School System is a lack of access to educational resources. Many students come from families that cannot afford to buy them the necessary materials such as textbooks, laptops, and other school supplies. This lack of resources can put students at a disadvantage and make it difficult for them to keep up with their classmates.
Another major challenge facing underprivileged children in the Atlanta Public School System is a lack of support for their emotional and mental well-being. Many students come from families that are facing financial struggles and may not have access to counseling or other mental health services. This can lead to increased stress and anxiety, which can negatively impact their academic performance.
Furthermore, students from low-income families are more likely to experience food insecurity, which can negatively impact their physical and mental health, and also affect their ability to learn.
The DanaKay Foundation is responding to this crisis by gearing up a new project for 2023. We’re excited to announce new details coming soon.
